Ski Openings 2023

The weather has turned wintry ❄️🤍❄️There is already snow in the higher ski areas and a lot more snow is expected in the next few days. The first ski areas are already open and the fun on the slopes has already begun. The excitement among ski, snowboard and cross-country skiing fans is increasing… it’s high time to list the highlights of the Ski Openings 2023 for you.

The program is so diverse with top acts, concerts, culinary surprises and workshops that there is definitely something for you too at the Ski Openings 2023.

Ski Opening Gurgl

📍 Obergurgl-Hochgurgl | 17.11.-18.11.2023

The ski and snowboard season in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl starts on November 15th this year!

Even without a glacier, the ski area, which is located at an altitude of 3,000 meters, is the first non-glacier area in the Alps to start the 2023/2024 winter season on November 15th.
The official opening of the ski area will take place on Thursday, November 16th, with a DJ evening and DJ Ferino at 9:00 p.m. in the Gurgl Carat foyer.

Ski racing enthusiasts can also enjoy the men’s FIS Ski World Cup Slalom in Gurgl for the first time this weekend. The slalom will take place on Saturday, November 18th from 10:00 a.m. The Ö3 party will take place on this day at the Top Mountain Crosspoint.

With Demi Lovato, Ischgl has done it again! On Saturday, November 25th, a big star will take to the stage. Demi is known for her varied musical repertoire and fans can enjoy both the well-known and new hits from the album HOLY FVCK.

The great thing is that you don’t need a separate concert ticket! If you buy a day ticket, you can first have fun on the slopes and then at the concert. Can it get any better? Top ski area and top performance in one.

La Grande Première

📍 Val Thorens | 25.11.-26.11.2023

What can you expect at La Grande Premiere in Val Thorens? Certainly a lot of skiing and testing in the large test centre in the middle of the snow on Place Caron. Furthermore, there is a snow park, various DJs create a party atmosphere, mountain films are shown and on Saturday at 5 p.m. there is a raclette party followed by fireworks! Stanton Ski Open

📍 St. Anton am Arlberg | 01.12.-03.12.2023

The new ski season is celebrated in St. Anton am Arlberg with the Stanton Ski Open. What’s that? Concerts with cover bands, DJs and singer-songwriters on 3 stages, food trucks and free ski and snowboard tests. The mountain rescue service also gives lectures and avalanche training.

In addition, there will be a safety camp this weekend. Freeriders are being prepared for the 2023/2024 freeride season.

Ski Opening Obertauern

The first 26 lifts will open in Obertauern on November 24th. But from December 2nd things really start! Then the Austrian band “Pizzeria & Jaus” gets everyone dancing and partying with their numerous hits such as “Hooligans” and “Liebe zum Mitnehmen”. Further information can be found here

Ski Opening Montafon

📍 Montafon | 02.12.-03.12.2023

Yippee! Finally, it’s time again. New winter season, new ski models. So off to the Silvretta Montafon to test the new models and then, tired but satisfied, start the DJ party at Bella Nova from 1 p.m.. After a refreshment in the market hall at the valley station, the party continues with the unique live band Atze & Kurt.

On Sunday the party takes place in Gargellen. It starts early with breakfast in the middle of the mountains in Schafberg Hüsli and then it’s off to the slopes! Après-ski time is at 3 p.m. at the Schafbergbahn valley station.

Powder Week

📍 Les 2 Alpes | 02.12.-09.12.2023

Skiing and snowboarding alone in this fantastic glacier ski area of Les 2 Alpes is magical. But during Snowtrex Powder Week there is also a cool après-ski program with an opening & bad taste party (take your ugly (Christmas) sweater out of the closet), snow volleyball and frisbee tournament, DJs and a traditional raclette evening.

Ski Opening Schladming Dachstein with Robbie Williams

📍 Schladming Dachstein | 07.12.-08.12.2023

Unbelievable but true! Superstar Robbie Williams is coming to Schladming Dachstein for the opening of the ski season. Robbie was even there in person last summer, where he will perform on December 7th and 8th, 2023 (yes, you that’s right: 2 days in a row!). The Planai Stadium will shake to its foundations because not only Robbie Williams, but also the well-known DJs Lost Frequencies and Da Tweekaz will be performing.

The great entertainer Williams is celebrating his 25th anniversary as a solo artist and will undoubtedly sing his greatest hits “Angels” and “Let me entertain you”. The stage will be gigantic with more than 100 m² of LED lighting and an impressive laser and pyrotechnic show.

Bergfestival & Rave on Snow

📍 Saalbach Hinterglemm | 07.12.-08.12.2023 & 14.12-17.12.2023

At the Skicircus Saalbach–Hinterglemm–Leogang–Fieberbrunn you can party almost the entire month of December. It starts on December 7th, 2023 with rock at the Bergfestival and once you’ve recovered a bit, you can party for 4 days at the “Rave on Snow” from December 14th, 2023.

The winter season in Saalbach Hinterglemm will open with a rocking start from December 8th to 10th with the indie rock band Bilderbuch and LaBrassBanda, Querbeat, the punk rockers Massendefekt and many more.

Ski Openings 2023 ❄️ Saalbach Hinterglemm

Rave on Snow

Attention ravers… there will be another rave on the mountain from December 14th to 17th. It is already the 30th edition of this great festival. Ravers can party with over 60 artists and DJs not only on the village square, but also on the Schattberg at an altitude of 2,095 meters and in the various huts. Lineup 2023

Humorfestival

📍 Arosa | 07.12.-17.12.2023

The largest comedy and cabaret festival in Switzerland with many Swiss and foreign artists will once again take place in Arosa this winter season from December 7th to 17th.

A large marquee is set up in the middle of the ski area, near the Tschuggenhütte. Take the lift or walk up and then ski down to the valley. Anything is possible.

Hochzeiger Open Air

📍 Jerzens / Pitztal | 09.12.2023

Before the party starts in Jerzens, you can take a few turns in the snow in the morning. And then it’s time for Paaarrrrttyyy. Take the train to the Hochzeiger middle station and let off some steam to the sound of WANDA. The Viennese cult band is known for their songs “Bussi Baby”, “Columbo” and “Ciao” and creates a fabulous atmosphere wherever they perform.

With a ski pass ticket you can attend the concert for free. If you are traveling on foot, you can buy a concert ticket with a ride up and down the mountain. Tickets are available online or at the box office.

The WAO! Festival in Mayrhofen is more than just partying. In addition to fabulous sound, there are challenges (Tik Tok Ski Rally) and inspiring speakers, influencers and YouTubers. For example, the topic of mental health will be discussed on the opening day. Of course, there are also lots of great beats with the world-famous DJ Lost Frequencies or DJ Topic, Pretty Pink and Fät Tony.
