New lifts and cable cars await you in Austria’s ski resorts in winter 2024/2025
Austria’s ski resorts are once again investing heavily in winter 2024/2025 to make winter sports fun even more comfortable and varied. SNOWELL has put together a list of the new lifts and cable cars you can enjoy in Austrian ski resorts in the new ski season.
Zillertal Arena
Teufeltal
There’s always something to do in the Zillertal Arena. And in the 2024/2025 season, even more winter comfort has been provided in the Zillertal. The new 8-seater Teufeltal chairlift makes the connection between Zell am Ziller and Gerlos even more comfortable. In bad weather, the bonnet of the chairlift can be lowered and a seat heating system also ensures a pleasant temperature. Thanks to the increase in capacity, long waiting times are a thing of the past.
Duxer-X-Press
The old Duxeralm lift had seen its best days and it was time for a makeover. The new modern Duxer X-Press 6-seater chairlift, naturally with a bonnet and heating, is absolutely impressive. But it’s not just the lift that’s new. There is also a new conveyor belt, a new supermarket and a comfortable ski depot for winter sports guests. In the Zillertal Arena, the guest really is king!

SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental
Eibergbahn
The 2 four-seater chairlifts Eiberg were a technical masterpiece in 1992 and important for the connections in the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental. After 32 years and an incredible 43 million rides, the lifts are being given a second life in Übersee, following a general refurbishment, and will continue to be used. The 2 4-seater lifts are now being replaced by an 8-seater chairlift. With a top speed of 5 metres per second, the new Eibergbahn in Scheffau is the highest-capacity detachable chairlift in the world, carrying 4570 passengers per hour! In the interests of energy efficiency and wind resistance, a canopy has been dispensed with. However, the heated seats ensure comfort during the ride. A photovoltaic system will be installed on the roof of the valley station of the Eibergbahn, which will generate 50% of the annual energy required by the lift. This represents another milestone and important step towards energy efficiency in the SkiWelt.

Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn
F1 + F2 Streubödenbahn
Fieberbrunn has been working hard over the summer to complete the new 10-passenger gondola, Streubödenbahn F1 + F2, for the 2024/25 winter season. This ultra-modern 10-passenger gondola in Ferrari red and with large panoramic windows, which will go into operation in December 2024, is comfortable and fast. In addition to the new gondola lift, investments were made in the snowmaking system on slope 110, which runs from the new mountain station on the Lärchfilzkogel to the F4 Lärchfilzen 4-seater mountain station.
F6 Schlepplift Zillstatt
Not only the Streuböden cable car is new, but the Zillstatt T-bar lift is also being tackled. It will be shortened, making it easier to ride. This is a very welcome innovation, especially for children and beginners.
12er Nord
The 12-seater gondola lift 12er Nord, which dates back to 1989 and in which passengers used to have to stand, is being replaced by a modern and comfortable 10-seater gondola lift. Long waiting times are a thing of the past with the new lift, which can transport 2,600 winter sports enthusiasts per hour. A new ski bridge ensures that skiers and snowboarders can reach the new 12-seater Nordbahn and Hochalmbahn lifts safely.

4-Berge-Skischaukel Schladming
Rohrmoos I
In the 2024/2025 winter season, the time has finally come: Schladming and Rohrmoos will be connected by the new 10-seater Rohrmoos I gondola lift. It can transport 2,400 people per hour and is not only fast, but also very comfortable! Skis or other sports equipment can be carried directly into the gondola. Take a seat and enjoy the beautiful view through the large panoramic windows.
The valley station has also been completely redesigned with a new sports shop, a lift, new ticket counters and a cosy lounge bar. Furthermore, the square in front of the Planai West building has been remodelled to improve the ski bus service.
Kaiblinggrat
The highest point in the 4-Berge-Skischaukel is getting a new lift! The 8-seater Kaiblinggrat chairlift replaces the 4-seater Quattralpina chairlift and takes skiers to the summit of Hauser Kaibling in 4.5 minutes. No more waiting times.
Comfort has not been neglected. The chairlift is equipped with heated seats and windscreens. This lift is a real godsend for families with children. The conveyor belt ensures that children who are shorter than 1.25 m are automatically raised by 15 cm and can therefore sit down safely and relaxed. The Kaiblinggratbahn takes you quickly and comfortably to the Naturjuwel Kaiblingalm and its connection to Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm.
Are you looking for speed and comfort? Then it’s high time for a visit to the 4-Berge-Skischaukel Schladming with Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm.
