The Jizera Mountains (Jizerské hory) is home to 15 ski resorts which together have a total of 54 kilometers of slopes and 67 ski lifts at an altitude of 420-1.060 m. The most popular ski areas in the region are Tanvaldsky-Špičák, Bedřichov, Liberec-Ještěd, Vysoké nad Jizerou-Šachty and Severák. Cross-country skiers will find in the region 160 kilometers of groomed trails with 8 entrances that lie in the vicinity of the large hotels. On one of the most important cross-country skiing competitions you can measure your forces with international and professional opponents. After a tiring day, the men will be attracted by a cold, locally brewed beer from the region and the ladies will be attracted by the widely known and long-etablished jewellers, who have produced there jewels in the region for centuries.
