Leysin is a place, which lies at an altitude of 1,253 m above Aigle. The ski resort of Leysin-Les Mosses offers 100 km of pistes at an altitude of 1,300 m – 2,200 m, which can be reached by 26 lifts and cable cars. The ski area is generally well-suited for all levels. However, one will find here mainly families and teenagers. The existing snow-making facilities provide certain snow conditions. Furthermore, there is a fantastic snowpark in Leysin, which has a lot to offer and annually presents new things, so it certainly is always exciting for snowboarders and freestylers. The only halfpipe of the Vaud Alps is located in Leysin. This phenomenal pipe is 5 meters high and 140 m long and also has an inclination of 20 degres, which is perfectly suited for a variety of stunts. Therefore also significant events such as for example Nescafé Snowboard, Lake Side Tour, etc. take place here. Below the “Chaux de Mont” one can find a permanent skicross – as well as a slalom slope, which is often used by both laymen and professionals. Moreover there is an attraction which was launched by the Olympic bob sleigh winner Silvio Giobellina: The Tobogganing Park. This park has several snow slopes with steep curves on which one hurtles down with snow tubes. This is so much fun! Those who like to take it easy, can spend some time ice skating. And those who had enough of the winter cold, can retreat into the swimming pool, relax a bit and recharge their batteries for the next day of skiing.
