Numerous ski runs, funparks, halfpipes, toboggan runs, cross-country trails, snowshoe trails, winter hiking trails and ice skating rinks are offered in the Schwyzer winter sports areas. In the Muotathal you can visit the largest pine forest in Europe. Stoos, the car-free resort, is very popular with winter sports fans. For families there is the Swiss Holiday Park in Morschach. This diverse leisure park features a variety of spas, baths and sports and games possibilities. At Hoch-Ybrig you will find a wide variety of attractions: the longest zip line in the world, the Sattel-Hochstuckli with a summer toboggan run and a pedestrian suspension bridge. In winter skiers and snowboarders will find perfect conditions in Hoch-Ybrig. In Brunnen you can listen to an interesting lecture in the Knife Valley Visitor Center, where you can learn more about the Schwyz region. There are also several alternatives for skiing and snowboarding. In December the traditional ‘Klaus-Umzüge’ (Nicholas parades) take place in Küssnacht am Rigi and in Arth. In February each Schwyzer village celebrates the Carnival (Fasnacht). Take a guided tour through the Karsthöhlensystem, the longest cave in Europe with a distance of 190 km. The Goldauer Nature Park and Zoo is also an experience worth having for the whole family.
