Vals-Mühlbach - Valles-Rio Pusteria is located in the beautiful South Tyrol and is a small community with a total of 360 residents. The family-friendly ski resort Jochtal can easily be reached from Vals-Mühlbach - Valles-Rio Pusteria by cable car. The slopes, which are located in the valley are very suitable for ski beginners. Those who have practiced a bit longer, will find more challenging slopes on the mountain. And those who are interested in cross-country skiing, can do this on the 8 km long cross-country trail in the valley. In addition, one can reach the valley fast and with lots of fun on the Fane Alm toboggan run. The near Vals-Mühlbach - Valles-Rio Pusteria located ski area Gitschberg Jochtal offers 51 km of well-groomed slopes for beginners and snowboarders. While the beginners still practice on the practice slopes, the advanced skiers can swish on the 29 km of red and 4 km of black marked slopes. In the ski area a total of 16 lifts and cable cars are available. The little skiers can learn to make their first turns in a playful way in one of the three children’s parks. Also a funpark for freestyle fans is situated in the ski area. Another, but bigger snowpark is situated at the Hinterberg in the Jochtal. Set directly on the slopes of the ski area Gitschberg Jochtal there are numerous traditional mountain huts. A special tip for all lovers of the traditional South Tyrolean cuisine, is the Berggasthaus Anratterhütte. If one can choose between 15 different sorts of dumplings, it is very hard to make a decision. In the region there are several other highlights, such as winter hiking, torchlight and snowshoe hikes, ice skating or romantic horse sleigh rides.
