The province of Modena is located in the Emilia-Romagna region, which extends from the peaks of the Apennines to the foothills of the southern Po Valley. Experience the feeling of sheer freedom when you slide down the wonderful slopes for skiers and snowboarders amidst the magnificent nature. Cimone mountain offers 50 kilometers of slopes which are connected through 22 ski lifts. 50 ski instructors and several baby and children's parks are also available in this region. Last but not least to be mention is that Cimone mountain is the highest in the northern Apennines. In addition to the standard program of skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing, there are also other opportunities for sports activities in winter. Whether ice climbing, snowshoeing by day or by night, dog sledding, ice skating or classic freeriding, there is something for everyone. In the area of the snowshoe sport, an international competition organized by the Italian CSI takes place annually. Here, amateur and professional athletes can compete with each other.
