Going am Wilden Kaiser is one of 9 resorts, which lie in the ski area of the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental. 90 modern cable cars and ski lifts combine 280 km of perfectly groomed pistes, which are a delight for every skier and snowboarder. Of these 280 km of slopes, 245 km can be covered in artificial snow, which makes it very snow-sure. It is therefore that this ski area has been honoured as the best ski area for the fourth time. From Going am Wilden Kaiser you can enter this ski area with the Astbergbahn. The traditional farms and guest houses breathe atmosphere, so that many guests are very happy to spend some time and days there. In this mountain world three funparks are available for snowboarders and freestylers. Night skiing is also possible on the longest slope in Austria, in neighbouring Söll. Those who do not like to ski can have fun on the 4.5 km long toboggan run Astberg. On this toboggan run one can choose to go to Ellmau or to Going am Wilden Kaiser. In Going am Wilden Kaiser, the traditional craftsmanship market takes place. People are very proud of this local market. Snowshoe and winter hikers also have the possibility to go for a hike from this place. The goal of the walk could be Hochbrixen and its igloo village at the mountain station. It is a little oasis of ice and it is worth a look.
