In the Tannheimer Tal winter holidays are a sporty adventure. The focus is clearly on cross-country skiing. On 140 km of groomed trails, of which 98 km medium difficulty range and a maximum height difference of 50 meters, you can admire the beautiful winter landscape of the Tannheimer valley. On the 12 m long trail for advanced cross-country skiers you can even reach the nature reserve of the Vilsalpsee. A major event and one of the largest cross-country skiing competitions in Austria is : the marathon for 1,400 cross-country skiers, the SKI-TRAIL Tannheimer Tal – Bad Hindelang. 6 ski areas in the Tannheim valley offer 23 ski lifts and 53 kilometers of slopes. There is everything, from leisurely slopes to FIS World Cup downhill slopes and therefore no wish remains unfulfilled for beginners as well as professionals. Next to the slopes of the Tannheimer valley you can find 70 km of winter hiking trails and many Nordic walking trails. Another annual spectacle is the festival of balloonists, where each day about 25 balloons from around the world rise.
