The Mariazeller Land with the pilgrimage site Mariazell is located on the border with Lower Austria in Upper Styria. The main city Mariazell has already been one of the most popular tourist regions in Austria during the monarchy. In addition to the pilgrimage church in Mariazell and the surrounding churches, the Mariazellerbahn, the Mariazeller Bürgeralpe, Mariazeller Advent and much more are popular destinations in the region. With the ski association “Schiland Voralpen” with 40 km of slopes and 1 lift ticket the ski region Mariazeller Land offers cheap ski and snowboard fun for the whole family in 3 ski areas. A free ski bus takes the guests from the Bürgeralpe to the Gemeindealpe and back. Those who want to take it easy can enjoy the lovely and crystal clear air during a winter hike along the 3 Seen Kristallsee, Erlaufsee and Hubertussee. Particularly nice is the 1,700 m long toboggan run which leads to Mariazell and is illuminated at night. Those who are still not satisfied, can let off steam on the Bastis Funslope with boxes, waves, kickers, etc..
