Welcome to the World Cup resort Zauchensee in Salzburg. Since 1980, Zauchensee has been the venue for international World Cup races and home of Downhill World Champion Michael Walchhofer. From 1350 m above sea level, you start in the highest ski resort of the Salzburger Sportwelt, which leads up to 2176 m above sea level. On 45 km perfectly groomed and fully snow-covered ski slopes, skiers and snowboarders will find a true paradise of different slopes with 16 top modern lifts, right in Zauchensee. In the neighbouring ski area Radstadt – Altenmarkt another 17 km of slopes with 7 lifts are available. A free ski bus transports the winter sports enthusiasts from Zauchensee to Altenmarkt and back again. With its demanding deep-snow slopes, Zauchensee is a true insider tip for all freeriders with its numerous signposted ski trails. Freestyle rookies can try the first tricks in the Familypark Rosskopf in Zauchensee. More experienced freestylers will find a mecca of obstacles, rails, kickers, … in the Absolut Park in Flachauwinkl-Kleinarl. Here also a boarder and ski cross run are available. The cross-country enthusiasts await a cross-country trail of 180 km, including the 68 km long Tauernloipe, which connects 6 holiday resorts in the Salzburger Sportwelt. Use of the trails is free. In addition to the winter fun on the slopes and cross-country trails, you can also expect fantastic winter hiking trails, snowshoe trails, toboggan runs, activities such as winter trail horse riding, horse sleigh rides, water fun in the Erlebnistherme Amadé and much more. The physical well-being is taken care of in 15 ski huts in Zauchensee alone and numerous restaurants, serving regional Salzburger specialities and international cuisine.
